Formula 350 SS:

Twin MerCruiser V-8 Power, 53.2 MPH WOT

Formula 350 SS
Formula 350 SS

Powered with twin 430-hp MerCruiser 8.2 MAG H.O.s for our tests, the Formula 350 SS was quick out of the hole despite a weight over 14,000 pounds (6,350 kg) as tested. She turned in a top speed of 53.2 mph. Her 21-degree deadrise and sharp forward entry should deliver a smooth ride in rough water, and like all Formulas, she's built to take it. She has sleeping capacity for four in the mid cabin and on a convertible V-berth in the bow.

The optional hardtop shown here includes a high tow point, rod holders, and speakers for the stereo.

This OB model is an evolution of the sterndrive version that makes the most of her space-saving outboards, and yet she retains her elegant good looks and all the comfort features. Then, there is the matter of her speed.

Fleming 78:

Ready for Worldwide Cruising

Fleming 78
Fleming 78

The pilothouse of the Fleming 78 is just as luxurious, efficient, and beautifully-finished as the rest of the yacht. The company thinks of pretty much everything, including a day-head just steps from the helm. The standard helm console is low as preferred by experienced skippers, but pretty much any design the buyer prefers is available.

Comparison

Express Cruisers 25’ to 29’:

We Pick 4 To Compare

uscg report

Clockwise from top left: Formula 290 Sun Sport, Four Winns Vista 255, Regal 26 Express, Cruisers Sport Series 275 Express.

The “express cruiser” has been one of the most popular type of boat for decades because it serves both as a dayboat for entertaining and cruising, as well as being an overnight accommodation. At the small end of the range – 25’ to 29’ – express cruisers are often called “pocket cruisers” because they are small, but also because they usually can be towed. We compare and contrast
them.
